What's a backup?

A backup is a person who has downloaded the all.u.me app and taken the 3 minute training in how to safely intervene - when they witnesses harassment or when somebody calls for backup nearby.

all.u.me uses the proven 5D's intervention method promoted by the NYC-based NGO righttobe.org, that's so simple yet wildly effective, and gives the confidence to act. The D's are: Distract, Delegate, Delay, Document and Direct.

If you can say: "Hi, there you are, let's go!"

- you can be a backup!

What's the deal?

01 It’s not about taking chances, but evaluating which action you feel most comfortable taking

02 It’s about, that there’s always something you can do - and something you shouldn’t do

03  It’s about that there isn’t a “right” answer and you can easily and effectively combine the D’s

04 It’s about disapproving the observed behavior, not the person

Do I have to?

No, you are welcome to decline a call when you get the notification that someone nearby is calling for backup, but remember an action is also to delegate.

It just might be really bad timing. Luckily, there are many other backups who has also been notified and are ready to help.

You are also able to cancel anytime during the call for whatever reason.
